The Corvette C8 – 22% over sticker.
I knew I was coming to photograph the new 2021 Corvette, but I had no idea the emotion I would feel when seeing it. I told the owner that I was at the right garage, at least I thought so, and so he opened the garage door remotely.
And then there it was. The light hitting the driver side tail light, as if inviting me inside, the shadow grey metallic paint glistening and shimmering in the light, and a beautifully designed piece of engineering staring at me. It’s dark grey, but not really. There is aqua, silver, a hint of blue, that comes out of the paint depending on how the light hits it and where you’re standing.
The paint gives you a story at every angle.
This was the first photo I took of the car as soon as the door opened. From there I started to walk inside the garage, and immediately noticed how slow I was moving around it. There was a calmness that I felt being in its presence.
From this moment on I got to know this car inside and out, spending around eight hours with it. At the time that I’m finally posting this, I know the seller got 22% above what he paid for it. What will they fetch now that the Z06 is out? Who knows.
